🟠 AIR PROVENCE skills sponsorship for Sea Rescuers

AIR PROVENCE - Drone services in France & Export

The SNSM is a French charity dedicated to maritime rescue. Recognized as being of public utility, this voluntary association intervenes free of charge to rescue people in danger along the entire French coastline, both metropolitan and overseas. Its essential mission is to preserve human lives in the face of the dangers of the sea, offering crucial assistance along the coasts and at sea.

The SNSM Rescuers are volunteers. Thank you for their commitment 🙏

A year ago, AIR PROVENCE committed to skills sponsorship for the benefit/service of the SNSM

Skills sponsorship represents a strategic alliance between the business world and non-profit organizations. In this context, AIR PROVENCE offers the expertise of its employees to the SNSM free of charge, thus helping to optimize the efficiency of sea rescue operations.

By engaging in this approach, AIR PROVENCE affirms its role as a responsible player in society. This partnership creates a beneficial synergy: on the one hand, it strengthens the intervention capacities of the SNSM, and on the other, it offers AIR PROVENCE employees the opportunity to put their talents to the service of a noble cause. This initiative generates a positive social impact while promoting the company’s human capital, perfectly illustrating the notion of corporate social responsibility (CSR).

In 2024, AIR PROVENCE made a significant contribution to the SNSM by providing its imaging expertise. The company has produced numerous aerial drone shots as well as photographs and videos, all at sea, offering a new perspective on the association’s activities. These high-quality visual supports have played a crucial role in the SNSM’s fundraising campaigns.

They have helped to highlight the dedication of volunteers and to present in a striking way the equipment used during rescue operations. Thanks to these powerful images, the SNSM has been able to strengthen the impact of its appeals for donations, thus raising public awareness of the importance of its mission and the need for its financial support. This collaboration has therefore helped to promote the essential work of sea rescuers while optimizing the Association’s fundraising efforts.

Volunteers and the solidarity of seafarers

Passionate about the sea since I was young, my career took me from recreational sailing to catamaran competitions, then to a career as a ROV pilot for IFREMER GENAVIR on oceanographic vessels. Today, I continue to carry out missions at sea with AIR PROVENCE.

These experiences have allowed me to witness on many occasions the exceptional dedication and commitment of sea rescuers. Today, as an entrepreneur, I have found in skills sponsorship a unique opportunity to combine two objectives that are close to my heart.

On the one hand, it is about highlighting the remarkable commitment of the SNSM. On the other hand, this initiative allows us to deploy our drones in a non-technical context (unlike our usual services for our customers). This collaboration gives us the opportunity to perfect our flying skills in a maritime environment, while producing professional quality images. These recordings serve a dual purpose: they highlight the crucial work of sea rescuers and help to stimulate the fundraising essential to the sustainability of their missions.

The Station of La Seyne sur Mer / Saint Mandrier

Like all SNSM stations, the La Seyne-sur-Mer / Saint Mandrier station’s main mission is to voluntarily and free of charge rescue human lives in danger at sea and on the coast. It is an integral part of the network of 208 rescue stations spread across France, 188 of which are permanent.

The SNSM, designated a Major National Cause in 201, relies on around 8,500 volunteers.

In this context, the La Seyne-sur-Mer station plays an essential role in maritime safety in the region. It provides rescue operations and contributes to the SNSM’s overall mission of protecting lives at sea day and night.

The journey of the Founder of Air Provence

Former pilot of scientific underwater robots (ROV) capable of diving up to 6,000 meters of immersion, Augustin Navarranne’s training at AIR PROVENCE was rigorous, focused on the safety of handling and requiring a capacity for projection, organization and precision piloting.

Trained by IFREMER and GENAVIR experts in piloting machines, MCO, launching and recovering ROVs with the different crews, AIR PROVENCE has solid experience in operations at sea. Our missions were often for scientific purposes: underwater volcanic geology, underwater biology but also technical missions such as the recovery of mobile debris for the DGA, recovery of moorings for example.
